Correspondence E-Mail Course OVERVIEW
This Homestudy program consists of two CORE A, one CORE B and seven ELECTIVE selections which are approved through the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
COR 1616 (Core A) - A Practical Look at Illinois License Law -- An overview of those portions of the license law that are more likely to be problems for the licensee and a review of the special accounts (escrow) requirements.
COR 1617 (Core B) - Agency and Fair Housing: Back to the Roots -- This course focuses on the basic concepts of agency and fair housing as seen in the Illinois License Law and the Fair Housing Act.
COR 1624 - (Core A) Simple Rules for Keeping Your R.E. License-- This course encompasses what licensees need to know as it relates to requirements for keeping their license active, how they can be compensated, or pay compensation and advertising guidelines. It also provides a review of good record keeping practices and escrow requirements. Many examples are provided for what constitutes a violation of the License Act and any disciplinary actions. This course has been prepared as an interactive game.
COR 1635 (Core A) A Guide to the Real Estate License Act of 2000 -- This course will cover licensing issues, escrow account, compensation, business practices and disciplinary issues.
COR 1636 - (Core B) A Guide to Agency and Fair Housing -- This course is intended to provide a specific section by section review of Agency as provided for in Article 15 of the Real Estate License Act of 2000. It also provides a glossary of terms and definitions relevant to agency. This course additionally provides information in the form of terms and definitions, review materials and tables to assist the licensee in the understanding of fair housing laws.
APP 531 (elective) - Estimating the Value of Real Property. A home study course and in class study that covers the key concepts, issues, and practices of doing a real estate appraisal.
AT 229 (elective) - Anti-Trust Revisited. This course will explore various antitrust violations and uses a video to illustrate what can happen to real estate professionals who ignore antitrust laws. An antitrust crossword puzzle is included and serves as a review of the course materials.
ETH1524 (elective) - Real Estate Ethics -- This course helps the licensee understand how the REALTOR Code of Ethics impacts their business and how the Code is reflected in Illinois License Law which affects all licensees -- not just REALTORS. Completing this course will also meet the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) Code of Ethics Requirement.
FH 355 (elective) - Companion and Service Animals in Housing. This course will provide the student with information regarding the local, state & national ADA laws regarding service animals, as well as define the Fair Housing Amendment Act of 1988 as it defines persons with disabilities and types of accommodations.
FI 1103 (elective) - Property Taxes in Illinois. This course is an introduction to the basic principles and concepts of the Illinois property tax system. Property taxes in Illinois are the major source of revenues for local unites of government, schools and local taxing bodies and districts. Over the past 30 years, property taxes have become a major expense for property owners and can be an obstacle to ownership. The property tax system in Illinois is confusing, cumbersome and intimidating to most citizens. The purpose of this course is to give real estate agents a better understanding of the system and provide a simple approach to the basics of property taxes. The agent should then be able to better explain and provide information to their clients, when assisting them in a real estate transaction.
FI 1198 (elective) - Real Estate Investing101. This course will give the real estate licenses an awareness of the opportunities for personal wealth building, in addition to providing an overview of the special challenges for a licensee who wishes to be a real estate investor.
RD960 (elective) - Disclosure Issues -- This course covers most of the critical real estate disclosure issues explaining to the agents what needs disclosure, to whom they have a duty to disclose and when and why it needs to be done.
When purchasing the correspondence course(s), you will be E-mailed supporting documentation including course handouts, notes and sample quizzes. It will be your responsibility to download/print the course handouts, notes and sample quizzes.
Note: If your E-mail provider limits the size of attachments, the information can be mailed for an additional charge of $2.50 per course ordered.
When you are ready to take the exam, please contact the Organization's Education dept. at 630-324-8400 or via E-mail at homestudy@succeedwithMORe.com and provide the dept. with your location choice; Downers Grove, Naperville or Tinley Park and your exam time (see left column). We will e-mail confirm back to you. **The Organization does not grade exams. Your exam(s) are mailed to the school headquarter, IAR in Springfield, IL. Please allow 7-10 business days to receive the results by mail.**
If you are out-of-state and would like to take your exam in your state -or- is unable to test at our facility during normal business hours Mon. thru Fri., 9:00 until 4:00pm, it is your responsibility to locate a real estate association, college or local library and get the permission from someone in management who will agree to proctor the exam(s) for you. In turn, you should e-mail homestudy@succeedwithMORe.com that individual's name, Company name, complete address, e-mail address and contact phone number for verification. This school will then contact the proctor and will e-mail or mail the exam(s) to that individual.
