Affiliate Advisory Group
Affiliates are a resource for the REALTOR® members that do not engage in the real estate profession but work in related fields such as finance, appraisal and insurance. The Affiliate Advisory Group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. and plans Panel at the Pub Seminars throughout the year, Lunch and Learn Seminars and the annual Oktoberfest celebration.
Broker/Lawyer Committee
Besides conducting the annual Law Day Seminar, the overall purpose of this committee is to provide up-to-date contracts and forms for member use. It also works to keep members aware of all new laws and legal requirements and strengthens relationships with local bar associations.
Commercial Committee
The Commercial Committee meets the first Tuesday of each month and holds monthly seminars on the second Friday of the month to discuss what’s going on in commercial real estate.
Government Affairs Committee
The Government Affairs Committee, both North and South, is your link to REALTOR® issues, candidates for election, grassroots advocacy, and adding your voice to the chorus. Under the umbrella of "property rights" are the issues of home rule, transfer taxes, sign codes, eminent domain, and the mortgage interest deduction.
Grievance Committee
The function of the committee is similar to that of the grand jury. It receives ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine if a hearing is to be warranted. The committee makes only such preliminary evaluations as is necessary to make those decisions.
International Council
The International Council meets five times during the year and holds three to four forums to educate REALTORS® on issues regarding international real estate. The council’s purpose is to foster global growth of the real estate business and broaden multi-cultural understanding within the real estate community with knowledge acquired through training, networking and resource sharing.
Professional Standards Committee
The committee is broken down into hearing panels that are assigned to a particular ethics complaint or arbitration request that has been forwarded on from the Grievance Committee for a hearing. The hearing panel conducts a full due process hearing with sworn testimony, witnesses and evidence. Its function is similar to a court.
Professional Development Committee
The Professional Development Committee is comprised of volunteers within MORe membership. In June of each year, volunteer forms are sent out, describing all committees/task forces and encouraging member participation. The Professional Development Committee volunteers help design a variety of objectives and goals, along with activities/programs that are relevant to the real estate industry. The goal of the Professional Development Committee is to create awareness of educational opportunities and identify best-practice and evidence-based programs. The Director of the Education department is the staff liaison to this task force. We welcome all to apply!
