REALTORS® in Cook, Lake and DuPage Counties sound the trumpet and bring your voice to the State Capitol in Springfield. The legislature meets in the spring and fall of every year, and your voice is heard each time they bang the gavel. The Association is always at the table, voicing your concerns, advocating for a fair marketplace and freedom for your clients.
Our staff in Springfield sift through hundreds of bills each year, evaluating each proposed law for an effect in your business life. From budget proposals to administrative rulings, license law to auto leasing law, the Association flags issues and our member-driven staff lobby on your behalf.
Our voices on the State Government Affairs Committee ensure that your suburban voice is heard. Every member is invited to join in our annual visit to the State Capitol. Capitol Conference program briefs participating members on the issues and brings you together with you legislator in the State Capitol. Our members are often the catalyst for a legislator to understand how a proposed law can affect voters back home. Capitol Conference is usually in February or March of each year. Once available, information will be posted here.
