IAR Fall Conference and Expo: Get the Inside Track

The IAR Fall Conference and Expo is right around the corner and nearby, Oct. 1-3 at the Pheasant Run in St. Charles, Illinois. Don't miss out!  Gain access to top-name speakers, education, networking and 100+ vendors to build your business in 2013.

Attending the IAR Fall Conference and Expo for the very first-time or as a returning attendee? Here is a master cheat-sheet to make sure you get the most out of your time.

-- Try to Register Ahead of Time. 
Go online and register at reduced fees ahead of the event. Go to The Power of 'R' - IAR Fall Conference and Expo - Registration. Walk-in registrations are accepted but try to register ahead of the event to make sure your time is well spent once you arrive. Through advance registration, your name badge and program materials will be waiting for you when you arrive. Registrations are accepted online until September 18th.  The full conference registration fee is $135 before September 18. Walk-in registration fee for the full-conference are $145. One-day registration and trade-show only fees are available. See fees.

-- The full conference registration fee gives you access to six hours of continuing education.
Two C.E. sessions are being offered. "Agency License Law & Escrow" (3 hrs. Core A) with Bruce Aydt on Oct. 2 from 1:30-4:45 and Chris Bird's session on "What's Congress Up To? How the Changing Tax Laws Effect You and Your Client" on Oct. 3 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. (3 hrs. elective).

-- Don't miss the Ice-Breaker Reception
A casual event that officially kicks off the 2013 IAR Fall Conference. The event takes place at the Pheasant Run Resort on October 1st from 5:00-6:30 p.m. and gives REALTORS® an opportunity to network with REALTORS® from around the state.

-- More than a hundred vendors are expected to showcase their products at this year's trade show.
Make a list of those vendors you want to visit. Click here for the virtual expo to see and access a listing of the vendors at this year's convention. Through the online virtual expo, you can check out the vendors’ products online ahead of time and access each company's website. Be sure to stop by the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® booth inside the trade show!!! Visit with MORe staff and volunteers!  Be sure to bring plenty of business cards to drop in for drawings at vendor booths and be ready to take home many give-aways. Cash prizes are also given away daily at the trade show.

Bring plenty of business cards to distribute as you attend education sessions, the expo and network with REALTORS® from around the state.

-- A special congratulations to Mike Drews, incoming IAR Treasurer! 
Mike is a past president of the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® and is a broker with Charles B. Doss & Company in Oswego. He will be installed as Treasurer of IAR at the Inaugural Banquet on October 2nd. Mike joins other IAR incoming officers--REALTOR® Phil Chiles of Springfield as President and REALTOR® Jim Kinney of Chicago as President-elect. This is a ticketed event.

John Tuccillo is one of the foremost real estate economists in the United States. He will share his insights on Housing and the Economy: A First Look at 2014 in his session on Oct. 3 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
-- Want to learn more about the latest mobile technology trends that are driving the industry? Attend these sessions at the Convention:
1. Opening Session Headline speaker John Reyes, CEO and President of Social NetworX, session "Mobile Technology and All That You Can Do" on Oct. 2 at 8:45 a.m. This session offers a comprehensive overview of various technologies including social networking, online video, iPad, and mobile applications.
2. The Social Business of Real Estate -- This session is led by Nobu Hata, Director of Digital Engagement for the National Association of REALTORS®.  Learn about the future of the industry, stats and trends both online and offline. Learn how to harness the knowledge in easy to use applications. Check out his session on Oct. 2 at 1:30 p.m..
3. Steve Volkodav will lead a session on "App Swap" on Oct. 3 from 1:00-1:45 p.m. reviewing apps to assist you in business, travel, productivity and more. This session will show you how to work smarter and more efficiently by getting more use out of your smartphone and tablet. Learn from the expert on what can save you time in your daily use of technology through efficient apps.
4. If you want to learn the latest on paperless technology -- Kim Hlava will lead a session on Going Paperless: Streamlining Your Systems with Your iPad on Oct. 3 from 1:45-2:30 p.m.
