Brian Dempsey is a Partner with DNG Property Advisors. Having completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Estate Management Surveying at the University of Glamorgan in South Wales in the 1990's Brian took up work in Halley Grace, a leading and well established General Property Practice in Waterford City where he had worked on a regular part time basis for the previous 4 years. Some years later in March 2000 Brian joined Douglas Newman Good (DNG) as Senior Negotiator before been promoted to office manager in 2002. In 2005 Brian was further promoted to Associate Director of DNG which by now had opened branches on a Nationwide basis before being promoted to Partner in 2012.
Currently Brian runs DNG's busy Stillorgan office, overseeing transactions throughout the southside of Dublin City in their leading suburbs all within 4 miles of the City Centre itself. His role here is generating leads throughout the branch network, staff training, regulation and its implementation, formal valuations compilations and review, along with representing DNG across all media platforms regularly appearing on National Television & Radio along with print media again both national and local.
Along with being an Auctioneer & Estate Agent Brian is also a Chartered Surveyor & Registered Valuer and a full member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors along with the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and sits on one of their Nationwide Committees. Brian currently holds the position of President of The Institute of Professional Auctioneers & Valuers, Ireland's leading body of Auctioneers & Estate Agents in Ireland. IPAV is an awarding body for the European Valuation Body TEGoVA and shares a Bi-lateral agreement with many international bodies including The National Association of Realtors. A Fellow of The Institute Brian has been a National Council member of IPAV sitting on all their Committees including Disciplinary, CEO, Agricultural, Membership, Recruitment and MLS for 6 years and has been an ordinary member since 1999. Brian retires his position of President of IPAV in June 2018.
Education has always been at the forefront for Brian and he is keen to progress this for all the younger people looking to take on a career in Real Estate or who have embarked on same already. He also serves as an External Examiner at the Institute of Technology Tallaght Dublin for Auctioneering Estate Agency & Valuation which is one of the few educational facilities awarding the qualification to work as an Irish Property Service Provider.
Outside of Real Estate Brian is an accomplished Photographer who has photographed in properties such as Aras an Uachtarain (The President of Irelands Residence), Glencairn (The British Ambassador’s Residence), Deerfield (The American Ambassador’s Residence) along with photographing for various musicians including Simple Minds, Deacon Blue and Candi Staton to name but a few. Golfing, hillwalking and fishing also feature as a great way to rest.
Finally, Brian is on the Board of Directors with Spinal Injuries Ireland, a charity he has volunteered with for many years.
