As you may have heard, the Village of South Holland is under a temporary, six month moratorium on the issuance of rental licenses. This will be for new (May 20th - November 20th) potential purchases for rental, not past or present rentals. Mainstreet has met with and expressed its opposition about this ordinance to the Mayor of South Holland and their staff and have asked for it to be repealed as soon as possible.
REALTORS® should inform investor buyer clients who are affected by the moratorium about the effects this might have on them. We will keep you informed about any changes that might occur during this time period.
***EDIT*** The rental moratorium was originall slated to run through November, but has been extended to run through Feb. 18th, 2020.
