Cheryl Murphy has been the Executive Director of the Illinois Chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI) for thirteen years where she has led strategic planning and committee volunteers to encourage excellence for people living in community associations.
Prior to CAI she worked as the Marketing Director for a CAI Business Partner member and volunteered on the CAI-IL Conference & Exposition Committee for four years. Having been a CAI member and volunteer gives her an informed perspective as executive director and helps her understand member concerns. Cheryl has a passion for relationship building and member satisfaction, two qualities which helped her earn the Executive Director Rising Star award in 2017 and the Executive Director of the Year award in 2019. Cheryl earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of Illinois in Champagne-Urbana and an MBA in Marketing from Loyola University Chicago.
