Your Rights

Know Your Property Rights

Navigating homeowner rights can be tricky. And when important issues are muffled under policy jargon, how do you know where to turn? Local REALTOR® associations like Mainstreet are committed to advocating for homeowner rights at local and state levels.

Advocating for Your Rights

We know that even the smallest change in legislation can affect your rights as a homeowner. At Mainstreet, we consider it our job to watch out for legislative issues that impact you so we can help protect your interests.

Mainstreet works closely with other local REALTOR® member Associations, Illinois REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®, as well as local and statewide government offices, to stand up for homeowners' property rights. Current hot button issues are Home Rule and Point of Sale Inspections. Our advocacy work is ongoing.

If you have questions about your rights as a homeowner, please reach out to one of our Government Affairs Directors.
