Mainstreet HQ, Downers Grove - Mainstreet REALTORS® and our philanthropic partner The Conservation Foundation met up in late March for a “big check” event, presenting the donations collected at our annual winter Signature Event Ugly Sweater Party and Fundraiser.
Remember, remember the month of December? That’s when Mainstreet REALTORS® hosted our much-anticipated winter wonderland charity event at Oak Brook Manor, Ugly Sweater Party and Fundraiser. While the event itself, coordinated by Mainstreet’s Young Professionals Network, may have been tons of fun and games (by all accounts it was exactly that) proceeds from the auctions and games were destined for a cause near and dear to our Association.
The Conservation Foundation has been saving land and rivers for more than 50 years. Founded in 1972 the Conservation Foundation is one of the region’s oldest and largest not-for-profit land and watershed conservation organizations dedicated to preserving and restoring open space, protecting rivers and watersheds and promoting stewardship of the environment in northeastern Illinois. They believe that every person, regardless of where they live or their social-economic status, deserves clean water, clean air, healthy food and safe access to nature to be healthy and happy.

All totaled up, the attendees at Ugly Sweater Party generously donated enough money for Mainstreet REALTORS® to write an oversized (albeit completely funded) check for $5000.
