Realtor.com is promoting a new campaign with the hashtag #missionzero. Their purpose is simple: spotlight the partnership between real estate, media, mortgage lenders and Veteran Service organizations.
The United States military and our combat veterans sacrifice years of their lives and risk their safety to protect this great nation. For the veterans coming home from active duty, a remarkable program exists to make becoming a homeowner easier.
So much easier that, instead of putting down a traditional 20% of the purchase price, veterans who qualify will put down 0%. You read that correctly; zero money down.
According to Realtor.com, “the latest real estate data shows the median down payment for homebuyers in the United States tops $24,000.” Veterans using the VA home loan program would keep every dollar of that $24,000 in their pocket.
